[[Benjamin Pollack (Terre-199999)|Benjamin Pollack]] et [[Claire Wise (Terre-199999)|Claire Wise]], un couple desoeuvré trouve une [[Arme Chitauri (Terre-199999)|arme chitauri]] abandonnée dans leur laboration,dénommée 'N° 47' par le [[S.H.I.E.L.D. (Terre-199999)|S.H.I.E.L.D.]] et décident de braquer quelques banques.<br />

L'Agent du S.H.I.E.L.D. [[Jasper Sitwell (Terre-199999)|Jasper Sitwell]] est assigné par l'Agent [[Felix Blake (Terre-199999)|Felix Blake]] de récupérer l'arme et de "neutraliser" (tuer) le couple; au cours de l'entretien, les deux se remémorent l'Agent [[Phillip Coulson (Terre-199999)|Phil Coulson]] qui vient récemment de décéder.<br />

Sitwell traque le couple jusque dans une chambre de motel et dans la confrontation qui s'en suit l'ensemble de l'argent est pulvérisé et le couple est maitrisé. Au lieu de tuer le couple et en raison de la capacité de Pollack à faire fonctionner une arme Chitauri endommagée, Sitwell invite le couple à rejoindre le S.H.I.E.L.D.. Pollack rejoint donc les rangs du département Recherche & Développement pour étudier la technologie Chitauri, tandis que Wise devient l'assistante de Blake (malgré lui).<br />
